North Rocks Park Masterplan

Darryn Capes-DavisParramatta LGA

As reported in the Hills Shire Times, To-do list is costly, the North Rocks Park Precinct masterplan is an ambitious plan for both North Rocks Park and John Wearn reserve. The draft plan has been released by City of Parramatta Council for public comment.

The first phase of the masterplan is to be funded by $2.5M Stronger Community Grant from the NSW Government. Included in the first phase is:

  • John Wearn Reserve
    • Upgraded playground
    • Upgraded skate park
    • Full size netball/basket ball court
    • New amenities building
    • Off leash dog area
  • North Rocks Park
    • Oval lighting upgrade

The full masterplan has been preliminary costed at nearly $38M and includes a $12.5M Community Centre. So the to-do list is indeed costly, but lets hope that funding can be secured by Council from its own reserves or further grants from either the state or federal governments.

Congratulations to City of Parramatta staff and Councillors, especially Councillor Andrew Jefferies and Councillor Bob Dwyer of North Rocks ward.
